Rafa Nadal '' my participation in Halle 2012 wasn't a mistake''
From Rafa's interview with Spanish newspaper ''Marca'' after his historic win in RG.
Q: Was it difficult for you to sleep on Sunday after your 8th RG win?

R: It's always hard to sleep after a lot of physiological pressure moments felt in a tournament like RG. it's not always good for me you have to meet with the media then to have dinner with family&friends then finally off to my room a bit tired.

Q: On saturday in a famous french restaurant you were dinning with your team when ppl recognize you they start clapping for you. were you surprised?
R: Yes for sure I was surprised these kind of situations always surprise you. In fact it was a very special tournament & the crowd supported me like never before & this is always considered a source of joy & satisfaction. since my comeback I have been welcomed greatly.

Q: How can you explain that next year you won't be the biggest candidate in RG?
R: what happened this year & the years before of success can't grant you anything. to be a candidate or not this is media stuff. what concerns me is to come back to Paris & find the right sentiments. I have always said that the better is my condition the stronger competitive I'm. at the end holding a winning record won't ban you from the fact that you can win or lose.

Q: After Wimbeldon years ago you took a month off to inject your knee with plasams. Are you planning for this?
R: No I don't plan for any injection

Q: What makes Mallorca a special place for you more than anyone else?
R: Its peacefulness, the return to the normal life. I really don't need ppl to come to the airport to know how much they are happy with my victory.

Q: A week before Roland Garros start. French magazine '' L'Equipe'' published the top 10 ranking for 2018 you weren't included. Do you plan to play until 2018?
R: I don't know we are in 2013 & I'm playing. and that's what matters. one of my biggest goals is to play in Rio 2016 & I will do whatever it takes to get there. If I'm in a good condition then I can play until 2018 but such things is hard to predict or control.

Q: In the Latin American tournaments you played, all the players agreed that you were limping?
R: Three months before now I was limping right. in my early return I was feeling a lot of pain but with the increase of the competition the pain didn't escalated on the contrary I felt better & that's the good news.

Q: You didn't play in Halle this year so you won't repeat last year big mistake playing it while you were injured?
R: No, I don't think it was a mistake playing it. Halle would have never change anything about the injury. I left Paris heading to Halle already injured. I went there bec. there was a deal I had with the organizers there & I have to respect it. I went there to get ready to wimbeldon. Halle didn't affect me I got to it injured anyway.

Q: Who chooses your tournament schedule for you. Toni or you?
R: I'm the player so the decision goes back to me. but I don't decide on my own. I listen to Toni, my doctor & my physio. I always listen for ppl who want the good for me.

Q: You didn't play any tournament before wimbeldon. does this decrease your chances of winning it?
R: In the beginning yes. we will see if i'm going to practice & adjust well or not.. & if I can pass the 1st rounds

Q: Who are the players you don't wanna play in the 1st rounds?
R: What I need is players who give you rhythm and as a result ur chance of winning increases.

Q: Do you think you have an opportunity to even Federer's grandsalm titles or pass it?
R: That's a very far away topic far by years to plan for it.
